Individual Therapy

In the fast-paced world we live in, it can be easy to get caught up in overwhelm, stress, confusion or simply feeling stuck.  My goal is to empower my clients by helping them move from a place of stuckness and uncertainty to creating space for clarity, freedom and joy. I work with clients by sloooowwwwing things down...slowing down thoughts, emotions, physical experiences and patterns of avoidance to notice what needs to be known, understood and resolved.

I weave together my training as a therapist and health coach to bring a holistic, collaborative and comprehensive approach to my work with clients. I believe we all have the strength to heal and transform our lives. I see myself as a guide, helping my clients rediscover the innate ability they have to heal. I do this through the use of cognitive exploration, somatic techniques, nervous system regulation, and providing psychoeducation around health & well-being. I frequently employ creative techniques such as guided visualization, breathwork/mindfulness and provide practices (aka “homework”) you can apply to your everyday life to tap into deeper levels of awareness and insight.

I am an EMDR trained therapist, which stands for ‘Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing’. EMDR is a simple but efficient therapy using bilateral stimulation (BLS) ─ tapping, auditory tones or eye movements ─ to accelerate the brain's capacity to process and heal a troubling memory. BLS, which occurs naturally during dream sleep, causes the two brain parts to work together to reintegrate the memory. Some clients experience relief or positive effects in just a few sessions. EMDR is effective in alleviating trauma-related symptoms, whether the traumatic event occurred many years ago or yesterday. It gives desired results with little talking and without using drugs.

Scientific research has established EMDR as effective for the treatment of post traumatic stress, phobias, panic attacks, anxiety disorders, stress, sexual and physical abuse, disturbing memories, complicated grief and addictions.

My goal in therapy is to provide a safe, non-judgmental space to help clients create new pathways for growth, self-compassion and a better understanding of their life experience.

Holistic Health Coaching

I use a combination of nutrition, coaching, mindfulness, and stress-reducing practices, along with education to help support you achieve your health goals.

It is important to know that healing the physical aspects of what makes you stressed, sad, or worried is just as essential as healing the emotional and mental aspects. Our emotions, thoughts, and physical body are interconnected.

Whether you are struggling with anxiety, depression, stress, or other mental health issues, improving your diet and lifestyle habits can be a significant contributing factor to feeling better. Many clients come to therapy wanting to feel better, but just can’t seem to get their worries, sadness, or stress under control. Sometimes this occurs, despite hard work in therapy. Usually, this is when we explore the physical reasons behind this roadblock.

Inflammation & Mental Health

Research is beginning to show a connection between chronic inflammation in the body and anxiety & depression. Inflammation is your body’s natural defense system that protects you from harmful invasions of infection or other stressors.

Acute inflammation is short-lived and essential for healing (imagine a swollen ankle after it is sprained). Chronic inflammation, on the other hand, is the root of all illness and can also feed symptoms of anxiety and depression. It develops due to dietary and lifestyle choices, as well as environmental factors. Symptoms of chronic inflammation include IBS, high blood sugar, fatigue, sleep troubles, brain fog, skin problems, headaches, allergy symptoms, frequent colds/illness and lingering body pain.

Cleaning up our diet can heal the root cause of chronic inflammation and set us up for long term health, energy and well-being. The gut is known as the “second brain” and is comprised of ecosystems of bacteria and vast neural networks that communicate back and forth with the brain via the vagus nerve. Our gut is also where the vast majority of serotonin is produced, which greatly affects mood! Nearly 80% of our immune system is also located in the gut, influencing our health and energy levels. Learning about foods and lifestyle choices that increase inflammation, and making changes to reduce it can drastically improve your mood and your overall well-being.

Women's Circles

“How might your life have been different if there had been a place for you? A place for you to go….a place of women, to help you learn the ways of women….a place where you were nurtured from an ancient flow sustaining you and steadying you as you sought to become yourself. A place of women to help you find and trust the ancient flow already there within yourself…..waiting to be released…..

A place of women…..

How might your life be different?”

-Judith Duerk, Circle of Stones: Woman’s Journey to Herself

There is nothing more powerful than a woman who is fully tapped into her power, pleasure and connection with life. When women come together, magic happens - we lift each other up, re-member who we really are, and glean a renewed sense of support, hope and forward momentum in our lives.

Together in Circle we explore sacred feminine principles, engage in meditation, connect to our intuition, tend to our life force, learn seasonal living practices, and experience sisterhood & community.
